What sets me apart?

There are a lot of photographers in the area, why chose me?

As a former teacher, my background brings a unique perspective to my photography. Years in education helped me develop patience and a deep understanding of working with people of all ages and personalities. These qualities are invaluable when connecting with clients, especially children or those who may feel a bit camera-shy, to capture natural and authentic moments.

Storytelling has always been at the heart of what I do. Whether it was guiding students through lessons or bringing concepts to life, teaching taught me the power of weaving narratives. Now, I use that same skill in my photography, capturing images that tell meaningful stories and evoke emotion.

Attention to detail is another trait I carry over from education. As a teacher, I learned to notice the small things—the subtle patterns, the fleeting moments—and that skill helps me capture the little details in a photo that truly bring a story to life.

Creative problem-solving was also a daily part of my teaching life, and it’s just as crucial behind the lens. Whether navigating tricky lighting, working with unpredictable weather, or helping a shy subject relax, I thrive on adapting to ensure every session results in beautiful, genuine images.

Above all, my years working closely with children and families taught me the importance of empathy and connection. Making people feel comfortable, valued, and seen is at the heart of my work, and it’s the foundation for creating photos that reflect who they truly are.

My experience in education shaped me into the photographer I am today—one who values connection, storytelling, and creating a comfortable space where natural, timeless moments unfold.
